Fabulous Felting

Suitable for Y1-6 Links with QCA Art: Unit 1B/ Historical studies Could be combined with “What about wool?” Each child will prepare fleece to make either a 3D felt snake, mouse or 2D felt picture. Please note that this workshop will need access to warm water to enable us to fill bowls of soapy water.

Wonderful weaving

Suitable for Y1/2 Links with QCA Art: Unit 1B Could be combined with “What about wool?” or “Ready to recycle?” demonstration/talk.  Using discarded or recycled textile materials, each child or group of children will make a small weaving. These may be on a variety of frames from circular hoops, plastic netting or place mats, depending on the age and ability of the child and your individual requirements.
