Spinning wool
What about wool?

Links with QCA Art: Unit 1B/ Historical studies. A classroom demonstration showing how, in the
past, fleece has been prepared and spun into wool using a spinning wheel. We will also look at how wool can be woven, knitted and dyed.

Ready to recycle?

Looking at recycling from an artist's point of view,
we will examine and classify a variety of recycled
objects, textiles and packaging, as well as look at
how Harlequin Arts uses some of these in textile art.
We will also experiment with methods used in
textile art such as folding, scrunching, tearing,
cutting, pleating, joining, gathering.

These “hands on” demonstrations may be adapted
for KS1 or KS2 and should last around 1½ hours.
